Myself and another co worker of mine go in at 7am for 11am opening everyday and we listen to Rage Against The Machine or Sublime stations on Pandora. Great way to start the day.

I usually never listen to music while cooking. Being a professional violinist makes listening to music hazardous since I'm too busy analyzing the architecture of music than focusing on the task at hand.

However, yesterday on VH1 classic was featuring a live george michael concert that I got swept into. I was singing along the whole time and really detracted from cooking the chicken. I finally had to just stick it in the oven and enjoy the music.

Cajun Zydeco/old country/country rock for those 20 hour BBQ cooks.

Some of you older rock and roll types might remember Alvin Lee and Ten Years After. He was a *fast* guitarist. A few years back I had to call a local radio station and complain to the programmer about his timing.

It was a saturday morning, I was prepping stuff for a big batch of chili. The KRCL programmer played an Alvin Lee tune at about the same time I started chopping some onions. I nearly lost a finger trying to keep up with the guitar work while I had a sharp knife in my hand.

Music can be hazardous to your cookng!

I don't cook professionally right now but usually while I'm in the kitchen I'll listen to Rage, Sublime, Lynyrd Skynyrd, or Dragonforce.
