Sounds like a lot of us are in the same place. Realizing life is short, and deciding to finally pursue those dreams we've had for years. I retired a year ago. We love to entertain and served up regular parties (mainly Halloween) hosting up to 300+ guests. We dreamed of having our own little dive B&B, so decided to sell it all and move sounth. We are in Honduras, building our little 8 room dive resort with an over-the-water bar & grill and a restaurant/bar and gameroom in the house. We will be the cooks for the restaurant, so I'm sure we will visit you guys often for recipe ideas and "help!" questions.

I bought one of these just for making osso buco. I found myself using it for a lot more than just that. I make tomato sauce in it, chili, any excuse I have to bust it out, I do. I absolutely...

One of my first internet knives. Great blade. I mean *great* but the handle was a bit weird. Right now it just sits at the bottom of my knife kit.

I've owned one of these for over 3 years now, using it daily. I've never had to sharpen (grind) it, just an occasional run along a fine steel, and it's held a wonderful edge for everyday prep....

Hola, SugarBear! I know someone who built his vacation/retirement home in Costa Rica; I guess there are a lot of American expats in the region.
You're correct in the belief that there are a lot of career-changers here who've followed their dreams into culinary careers. You'll want to peruse the Professionals' forums (using the search tool will streamline things a lot).
I hope you stop in often and participate in this lively community.

Very nice! Welcome. This is a great site, definitely not your average chat place.
On the funny side, when you said "dive" B&B I scratched my head thinking you meant low prices, cockroaches and rats. :o I'm a little slow. Obviously you meant a splendid place for diving :D
I think you'll really enjoy this site, despite people like me.
