Questions about steamed (?) broccoli

Hello All;
Yesterday, I had a side dish of broccoli at Applebee's and it was so tender and was seasoned to taste really good.

Is it likely that the broccoli was steamed in order to make it so tender and very easy to cut with a fork?

Also, anyone have any thoughts on what seasoning(s) made it taste so good ?

Can you tell I'm trying to reproduce the recipe/method ? Thank you very much for any thoughts you may have that will help me get close or right on target.

try using a Zip and Steam back made by Ziplock and sprinkle some Nutmeg on top when its done. Just a little goes a long way. The Zipi and Steam bags are perfect for cooking broccoli.
