I think that maybe this list would be better approached as a list of foods that are cheap and healthy and, if they are not already in your pantry they should be considered.
Obviously prices vary per region.
Bundens, You are quite right about eating too much spinach. Spinach also locks calcium making it nutritionally unavailable. As for eggs, although they contain cholesterol, the link between bad blood cholesterol and egg consumption is not at all straightforward. (let's say it is debatable). The main reason is because eggs contain lecithin which buffers the absorption of cholesterol. All in all the link between dietary cholesterol and high cholesterol is weaker then genetic predisposition or lifestyle.
