Meat pie

Do you mean pies such as steak and kidney or similar? Rough Puff Pastry, or Shortcrust or other?

I've never eaten any pie that I haven't made myself. This BBC recipe is a fairly standard one. It serves more than one, though. You ring the changes by using different fillings, eg chicken and mushroom, minced beef with carrots and onions, steak and kidney (NOT my favourite).

Mostly I make my own steak pies and prefer to make Forfar bridies or water crust mutton pies.

Here in the US, many of those types of meals are called "pot pies".

Can be chicken, turkey or beef as the main protein.

If you Google "pot pie" you will get various dough recipes and if you add the word "recipes" to the search, you'll get an assortment of chicken pot pie recipes. Here's an example.

In looking up Shepherd's pie, many came up, but most used mashed potatos as the topping.

An egg! In a meat pie - curious . . . i always envisioned myself as really very english but egg in meta pie is something i have not come across.

most meat pies will have a short paste base and a puff paste top , what kind of meat are you looking for i have loads of great recipes , meat pies are very popular here in nz and in aus

We also have a cold pork pie with whole boiled eggs in the middle, baked in a shortcrust pastry - they are often called Gala pies.
