What is the dish that uses leftover pasta to make a quiche type thing called?

Kugel maybe?

I Googled Kugel (because I didn’t know what it was) and while that does look interesting and a candidate for what I was thinking of, I somehow got the idea in my head that I had seen or heard of something that really was more of a pie-esque thing.

I’m trying to combat the problem that on spaghetti night I either underestimate the kids’ desire for pasta or I over estimate and end up with leftover cooked pasta and not one of the little boogers will touch it once it has been in the fridge. Okay, neither will I. I hate leftovers, but have no problem “recycling” .

OMG! i hate leftovers too. I think Giada DeLaurenttiis did something like that where she layered eggplant and pasta into a springform pan lined with puff pastry or some kind of dough and just covered the top with the dough as well..i know this isn't an answer to your question..but mayb you can look it up on foodnetwork?

It's called (wait for it) spaghetti pie. There are a million recipes. Google a few to get the idea and then just follow your whim.

And here I was thinking that there would be some super fancy/sexy name for it. How about we call it:torta dell'uovo e passata or pâté en croûte passé et d'oeufs or pâté en croûte de surplus or torta rimanente.

Yes, I used babel fish.:D

why dont you chop the spag in to small bits and cleverly hide it inside soup or casseroles or even in to a salad (call it noodle salad)
or even put it in to a fritter mix with other left overs ... gasp  things like bits of vege, left over chicken or meat , or a tin of tuna and add ketchup on the side depending on how old the kidlets are of course, just dont make it when the kidlets are around that way they wont knowits leftovers , and just call it a fancy made up name

Add an egg or two, lots of parm, some mozz, mix well ad put in a greased pie pan. Top with more mozz and cheddar and bake until hot and bubbly. You can add leftover veggies, onions, more garlic, etc.
