anyone else like something starchy and crunchy in their omelettes?

call me crazy, but i really like my omeleettes (ones i make for myself, not the people i serve), to have something crunchy in them.
i always joke with my room mates about making them "lucky charms omeleettes". :talk:
but on a serious note, i made an omelette one morning at work using diced tomatoes, blue cheese, biased scallions and crutons, and i loved it.
everyone looked at me like i was nuts, but it tasted great!

am i alone on this here? is there anyone else who likes a little crunch in their omeleettes?

bacon
asparagus
peas
boiled potato
rice
mushroom

Texture is great in omellettes. Side salads can get pretty crunchy, too. I just dug out "the art of cooking omellettes" by Madame Romaine de Lyon copyright 1963. It has 553 recipes.

How many ways are there to spell omelet?

Personally I like my omelettes to be soft and fluffy. But I have a friend that needs crunch in everything she eats. She even puts potato chips directly on her sandwiches just to have extra crunch.

Your omelette sounds good to me. I don't mind crunch in an omelette. I've seen plenty of fine restaurants add nuts, broccoli, sauteed potatoes, bacon or even an omelette gratinee which is deliciously crunchy on the outside. Asian restaurants will add crunchy sprouts and greens too and it's a very good combination.

I prefer to have omlette with some onion and green chilly with Tomato sauce. But I also love bread omlette as well.

Boy this one is my favourite. Another reason of this is I can make it myself and so far I always get compliment whenever I serve :)

Well I love soft and traditional omlettes. There are few things on which experiment should not be done and I think omlette is that thing.

Soft omlette having well chopped onions and green chilli and serve with Tomato sauce. Boy that can make my whole day.

French fries are a standard in Greek omelets; for more crunch you could use hash browns.

I like sauteed onion and pepper, and a special treat, hard-smoked salmon. (Not crunchy, but pretty good.)
