They look great. That's one of my favourite pie fillings. I made a lot of blackberry jelly and jam a couple of weeks ago.

Lovely.:D
I manage to pick lots of brambles on the hills locally. I tried growing them in the garden, but they grow rampantly and we dug them up a couple of years ago. The suckers are STILL coming through though!

blackberrys

They don't grow wild here in Ontario, but I used to pick them when I lived in Sussex, UK. where are you???? qahtan.

psss your wild ones have better flavour ;-)))))

I'm from Edinburgh - but I know Sussex quite well. Used to live just outside Eastbourne for about 18 months!

Yes, the wild ones have the edge on flavour - and even firmness, that's for sure!

Recently in london we picked a large quantity of blackberries in hampstead heath! It was amazing that people passed them by. Made a very nice pie.

Blackberries (or brambles as we call them in Scotland) are one of my favourite berries. I've just finished picking a small amount of blaeberries (blue berries), the native ones are much smaller than the imported ones, but very sweet.
