Music You Cook By

Do you all have favorite music to cook by? Does the music change according to the dish you are preparing? For instance, would you typically have Zydicco (spelling?) playing while preparing cajun, and Elvis for burgers & fries?

Mostly jazz - on the softer side, classic rock (60's/70's), Steely Dan anytime.

To practice my craft, I need total silence! :chef:

LOL!

No, really, I prefer news/talk radio - especially when I'm bored with what I'm cooking. Otherwise, my own quiet thoughts amuse me well enough.

Music is not background to me. I will end up losing myself in music and forgetting the task at hand.

I love the sound of silence and I don't mean the song Simon and Garfunkel sang. Have never understood the need people have for noise even if its "background noise"
