It seems to be more and more fashionable to grill salad leaves nowadays. I'd like to give this a try myself, any pointers, recipes and tricks of technique?

I bought one of these just for making osso buco. I found myself using it for a lot more than just that. I make tomato sauce in it, chili, any excuse I have to bust it out, I do. I absolutely...

One of my first internet knives. Great blade. I mean *great* but the handle was a bit weird. Right now it just sits at the bottom of my knife kit.

We found a recipe for roasting kale a while ago.
You remove the stems, sprinkle the leaves lightly with EVOO and toss to coat, sprinkle with sea salt, spread on a cookie sheet, put in a 325 degree oven, and -I've forgotten the suggested time, sorry - until they are crisp. (It wasn't very long.)
The leaves become as crisp as potato chips, and very good indeed! :bounce:
I would have never thought of it!

I tried grilling romaine lettuce tonight. I cut it in half lengthwise, seasoned with salt pepper and olive oil, and grilled it face down first and then turned it over. Made a caesar dressing for it. It was delicious but a bit too wilted for me. Next time I sear it only on one side on a higher heat and for a little less time, and will put a sturdier creamy dressing on it. Can't complain though, hubby loved it too. Served it with grilled salmon (Tuesday is fish or seafood night).
