Hello from Florida

Hey everyone!
My name is Maria and i'm 20.
I'm looking forward to starting Culinary school in December, but I have a question first.

I have noticed that some schools offer a certificate, while others offer a degree.
Is a degree significantly better than a certificate, or can you still get a job with both?
If someone could help me out with the differences between certificates & degrees, I'd really appreciate it! Thank you!!!

I could give you a certificate, only a duly licensed school by the city, or state can grant a degree. Assuming you decided later on you did not like the culinary arts, at least on any application for any type of work you could still write down you have an AAS degree.

Hello, Maria! Let me add my welcome to Ed's.

I'd recommend you try scoping out the Culinary Students/Culinary Schools forum here. Using the search tool can open up hundreds of earlier threads for you!

Good luck in culinary school! I hope you'll find a bit of time to hang out here to learn and to share.

Welcome!
Mezzaluna
