What is the best resonably priced knife set?
~$2-300

first, i ask, does it have to be a "set" (aka Block, and a bunch of knives you probably won't use)

my Wusthoff classic "set" that I first started with (albeit not TOO long ago) has done me well, but I only use the bread knife and pairing knife...maybe the longer pairing knife/"utility" knife once in a blue moon.

Just picked up a set of Wusthof Le Cordon Bleu knives last week from Cutlery & More for $250.00. It was your basic 8pc. set - 8" chef, 8" slicer, 8" serrated offset bread, 4.5" utility, 3.5" parer, kitchen sheers, steel, and block.

For me it's was a good buy. I needed everything, I was using below average stuff and they're a good fit for my small hands. I like the lighter weight and compared to what I was using they're very sharp. Now I will probably pick up some stones from Halls (thank you BDL) and I'll be all set.

They have other deals - check it out.
