Bonjour, ya'll...

I just joined this forum last night but have read it for some time. I am passionate about food and cooking but only have ambitions of becoming a better cook in my own home. From all that I have seen and read, food service professionals are way overworked and way underpaid. I'll stick to my technology job (structured hours are great!).

I currently live in the Nashville area having moved here after hurricane Katrina wrecked life in my hometown, New Orleans. Nashville is a great town with something to offer to everyone but food is not nearly as important to the culture here as it is in Louisiana. Regardless, I am sure that there are far worse places to live in the US. Anyone in the Williamson County area who would like to get together to form a dinner/social club, please PM me.

Greetings! Welcome to Chef Talk. I'm sad to hear you've been exiled from NOLA, but I'm sure you're an asset to whatever community you land in.

I hope you wander around the whole site: don't miss the cooking articles, blogs, photos, and all the other great material here. There are, literally, thousands of people to interact with and a wealth of experience to wade through. Good thing we have a search tool!
