Thank you for the introduction, Michelle! You're at about the same life stage as my brother when he started busing tables. He went to college, but after a year or so he went to culinary school and has been very successful as a chef and restrateur. Best wishes for success in whatever field you choose!
Many of us (both professionals and home cooks/bakers) started in our home kitchens- often at the elbows of our moms, grandmothers and other relatives. If there are precious recipes in your family, get copies or write them down NOW. You won't regret it!
