Cheese Cake problem--burt crust problem

Hello,

My butter seems to be seeping out of the crust. The butter goes to the bottom of the oven and the oven smokes.

MY Thought!! HELP!
1. Wrong bottom to spring pan. CHECKED IT WAS THE CORRECT BOTTOM.
2. To much butter. I HAVE BEEN USING THE SAME AMOUNT AS I USED WITH MY OTHER CHEESE CAKES. AND I DID NOT HAVE THE PROBLEM WITH THE CRUST.
3. Bad butter DON'T THINK SO I HAVE BEEN USING DIFFERENT KINDS.

When the butter seeps out the crust gets burnt.

I have been making an Oreo crust :) Oreo Cheese Cakes :)

Thanks Everyone!!!!

Perhaps it's not the butter, but the shortening in the Oreo stuffing? Maybe removing the filling or switching to a different type of chocolate cookie would fix it?

I suspect your #2 is the right answer, but not for the reason you think- you may have added shortening to the recipe without realizing it.

I second bluedogz The filling in Oreos is basically shortening, sugar and flavorings. Try using those chocolate wafer cookies, instead:)
