Olives?

Hi there,
As fall approached I was looking forward to curing some fresh olives but decided I'd order some ripe (black) from a grower in No. California instead of using green ones.

They arrived shriveled and moldy! I was so excited as I went to open my box... I could almost taste the finished product (so delish with my tamales at Christmas!), and then... sheer disappointment!

So, I was wondering if anyone has an olive tree with some black olives that are just waiting to be fixed up. I know it's super late in the season but I'm hopeful... I'm in Bakersfield, CA, if local (I realize this is not likely) then I can pick up. I'll even pick them if I can get to you. If you don't mind sending in mail or UPS, send PM with your price.

Thanks!

Hi Tina,
Golly what a disappointment. You should chase a refund on that delivery -take somepictures if you can in case they dispute it. Certainly contact the supplier, Not good enough is it?

I can't help you with any prodcue (bit far away Down Under), hope you find some out there.

what sort of conditions do you need to grow an olive tree?

Pretty much a meditteranean climate - mild winters, hot summers, average to low rainfall.
