Old Food and Wine issues

Thread Starter
Dear all,

it's been many years since my last posting in this forum.
It's Christmas Eve, I am recovering from surgery and I am going over lists of unfinished business for the year. It is in this task that I would hope for some help from members of this forum.

A while back our home was semi-destroyed in a fire that devastated a whole row of townhomes in Nashville. Among the items I lost and which cannot be replaced were many many issues of Food and Wine. Many a nights I spent cooking some of those delicious recipes, including a divine white chocolate ice-cream, which I still crave. If anyone has these older issues of F&W, would you please get in touch with me?

Happy Holidays. May the new year be peaceful and healthy for all.

Hello lhdah and welcome to Chef Talk! I hope you have a speedy and complete recovery from your surgery. I hope you'll find the issues of Food and Wine you seek.

I would recommend posting this request in at least one other forum here, as some members don't customarily look in the Welcome Forum very often. Try posting it in the Food and Cooking Questions and Discussion, or in the Recipes forum.

Best wishes to you and your family for a happy and healthy new year.

I don't have any old issues, but I do have the Best of Food and Wine annual books from 1987 to 1997. If you have some specific recipes from that era, I can try to find them for you. Amazon sells more recent F&W back issues.

I don't have a lot of F&W, but if you have an idea of the years I will search for the recipes.
A Blessed Holiday to you,
Nan

Thank you! My issues were from 1997 onwards until 2004 approximately. Could you look into your 1997 best for anything related to 1. white chocolate ice cream; 2. crab-stuffed ravioli; 3. port-glazed pork loin...there were more, many many more, especially desserts, but I can;t recall them at this time.

Please let me know if you find anything,

Best

I found a recipe for Crab Ravioli with Shallot Cream, which uses wonton wrappers. Is that the recipe you're searching for? Nothing on the other two.

www.foodandwine.com has recipes going back to 1997. Maybe you can find some of your lost recipes there.

Actually, it is!
Thanks KCZ. Would be able to copy it for me?

Strangely enough, my searches in the website you provided do not yield results...

I tried to scan the recipe so I could post it or Email it to you, but it came out illegible. If you send me a PM with your snail mail address, I'll send you a photocopy.

I'm glad I was wrong about people not customarily checking this forum! You just never know. :)
