My name is Hector Gil, i'm 21 and i almost finish my bachelor degree in hotel management here at Mexico, but the truth is, the kitchen is my entire passion and i did this degree because my father never agreed with me in becoming a chef and taking a degree in culinary arts; nevertheless, i managed to open my own bussiness, a small cafe in Mexico City where i work daily, but, i know im no one in the world of culinary, so i'm really looking forward to study seriously and becoming a name, i love europe so i hope i can afford something there. Anyway im pleased to meet you all, and solve as well as being helped with any kind of topic you wish to share me.

Cheers

Hello Hector - that's a Scots name, too!
I'm from Edinburgh and am a home cook, who has taken lots and lots of courses at various cookery schools around Europe, from Spain to Portugal, Italy to France and Ireland, and London and various places around Scotland.

Like you, I love to cook, but my parents wanted me to get a 'real' career, with prospects! I'd have loved to train as a real cook/chef - but nowadays think I've got the best of both worlds: a career I enjoy and a hobby (cooking) that I LOVE!

Please have a look at the fora here, and participate - there are a number of the fora which are for professional chefs only - and you will find them interesting, I'm sure!
