Where do you buy your fish (in Los Angeles)?

I live in Los Angeles, CA, and usually buy meat from Gelson's or Whole Food.

However, I find it very hard to find more than the classic fishes, even in those two stores. I have no problem finding Halibut, Salmon, Swordfish, Tilapia, Trout and Whitefish... but what about Turbot? Red Mullet? Where do I go?

Still wondering about this.

I was lucky enough to meet a 2 star michelin chef the other day and asked him. He recommended I look for japanese fish markets, mentioning what I quickly jolted down on my phone (spelling?) as "Malukai" (in the San Fernando Valley) and "Giant" (West L.A. on Sawtelle).

Unfortunately I couldn't find anything about either on Google. I'm in the Valley, so I'd love to find "Malukai". Or another good japanese fish market close to North Hollywood.

Anyone knows this area?

Thanks!
