Will be hitting the Big Easy mid April for another cruise. Was there 5-6 years ago for my first cruise experience and went to some wonderful places and I'm hoping most are still there like Cafe Du Monde, the Gumbo Shop, and K Paul's. Any other suggestions? Would like to stay around the French Quarter area, traveling with a disabled.

I can confirm that Cafe Du Monde is still alive and kicking, having been just under a year ago.

Try Tujague's, at 823 Decatur Street. Been there forever, not super-famous except locally, but wonderful.

Stop by the Acme Oyster House for a plate of fresh shucked oysters, fun lunch place. Its been there close to 100 years. They also have seafood platters, Po Boys and cold beer. What else could you ask for. The restaurant is in the French Quater at 724 Iberville st, easy to find ....................Have fun Bill

I was there a little over a year ago for the 2007-2008 new years.

I recommend a place, it was right next to the house of blues...not a real popular place, but **** good, new orleans food for pretty cheap. small place.

brunch, a "jazz" brunch at a place called....maybe mary B's? was pretty good.
