# Got PI?

Hey all,

Inspired by the movie "Pi," I set out to construct a recipe that conforms to the Fibonacci sequence (an endless sequence of numbers in which each consecutive number is the sum of the two preceding numbers, ex: 0,1,1,2,3,5,8,13,21...) I have started small, transforming a basic recipe for mayonnaise into a "Golden Sauce." The numbers are important for another reason, as they go on into infinity they approach what the ancient mathematician Pythagoras called the Golden Mean: 233/144 = 1.618. the Golden Mean appears in many different aspects of nature.

A short soliloquy from the movie Pi:

"11:15 Restate my assumptions:

1. Mathematics is the language of nature.
2. Everything around us can be represented and understood through numbers.
3. If you graph these numbers, patterns emerge. Therefore: There are patterns everywhere in nature."

-Max Cohen in the movie "Pi "

My question for discussion is this: Does anyone out there have recipes that are close to this sequence (even if you have to re-prioritze the placement of ingredients in the list)?

I find this quite Fascinating!!!!

Of course, it is no substitute for individual taste, but perhaps for a guidline, a starting point. What do you think?

Mayonnaise Recipe: Title = 0

2 tsp. Vinegar
3 tsp. Lemon Juice
* Salt and White Pepper TT (to taste)

--Put all ingredients exept oil, in a blender. Pulse for 5-10 seconds.

One part water
Two parts fat
Three parts flour
-short crust, or I should call it "Pi Dough".
Lol.
What a relief! To find out after all these years that I'm not crazy. I'm just culinarily divergent...

### Yeah Peach!!!

Now you've got Pi.........dough.

All you need is a Golden Rectangle to roll it out on.

21" x 13" x 1.618" (l x w x h) :)) LOL
