Kind hello from Canada.

Hello folks,

This looks like a fantastic resource for home/professional cooks. I am a home cook with an interest in French/North Italian cuisine. I am also very interested in the history of food and cooking in Europe--medieval to be precise. My other foodie passions include wine, espresso, whiskey and knives. Though, as you can tell by my username, I am especially fond of wine.

Hello and welcome to Cheftalk!

I'm Scots and very interested in the cuisine of my country, and also the many different types of whisky (note that Scots whisky has no 'e'!) we make. I'm not that much of an expert, but my husband IS!

Thank you.

Scotch is my favorite whisky and to be honest I don't really indulge in much else other than some Canadian and Irish.

Hope to visit Scotland this fall. Any suggestions for traditional (or not) dishes to try would be much appreciated.

Regards.

I'm really trying to sort in my mind how that might be possible...

Thanks for the welcome :)

Autumn is a lovely season here - the summer lingers longer into that season, with light nights up until about beginning of October. However, there is often a lot of rain, too.

Food - well, if you need recommendations regarding restaurants etc, PM me and I'll be happy to share my favourites with you!
