When I lived in Germany in the 70's, I had a Dr Oetker cookbook with some wonderful tortes I have never seen again. The one I really want to find is called a Prince Albert Torte. I have tried Google and all I get is the one for Passover. The torte I learned to make in Europe was 8 layers with a chocolate butter cream type of stuff in between itwas then sheeted in melted chocolate. The cake cake was always a hit and an eye popper. I would love to make it properly again. Has anyone heard of this?

One of my first internet knives. Great blade. I mean *great* but the handle was a bit weird. Right now it just sits at the bottom of my knife kit.

I've owned one of these for over 3 years now, using it daily. I've never had to sharpen (grind) it, just an occasional run along a fine steel, and it's held a wonderful edge for everyday prep....

Because of possible copyright violation, I deleted my former post of a recipe I believe is similar to what you are looking for.
However, I can tell you where to find it online.
At Amazon.com, find "The German Cookbook" by Mimi Sheraton. Click on 'search inside this book' and type in "Prince Regent Torte". The page with that recipe will come into view. For the recommended frosting recipes, type in "Butter Cream Frosting" and that page will appear. The hard chocolate frosting and lemon or rum frosting recipes can be found by turning one page back from the Butter Cream recipe.
I hope you have foiund this information helpful.
