Has anyone ever tried a root beer cheesecake?

Hi everyone,

Recently someone asked me if I had ever had a Root Beer Cheesecake and he was wondering how it tastes because someone told him about it. I found a recipe for one and posted it on my baked cheesecake page but I haven't had the chance to make one yet. Has anyone ever heard of this type of cheesecake and/or tried it? I'd like to give him feedback.
I doubt if I'll make it in the next few days because I just made a Red Velvet Cheesecake for Easter.

Thanks,

I haven't tried a cheesecake made with root beer but I have tried making root beer cake. There are a number of recipes on the web and I have tried a few. I love root beer so I thought it would be fun to try. What I have discovered is that you need to find recipes that use root beer extract. Using actual root beer just doesn't add enough flavor. I've kind of given up the quest as I really wanted something that used root beer and not the extract, but that is only because of personal preference.

Pete,

Thanks for your reply. I was actually asked to make a root beer cheesecake for someone today so I'll have to see how it turns out. I don't have to make it for several weeks but I'll post how it turns out.
