Has anyone ate at Roy's? (Florida)

Is it any good?

Which one? I worked for Roys in several capacities from Sous to Corp Trainer to a Chef/Owner and opened 3 of the Fl stores.

Oh wow!

Bonitas Springs or Orlando would probably be the one I would go to. Were those ones you opened?

I trained in Bonita Springs and opened the Orlando store as the Sous. Both are very good, but I like the feel of the Bonita Springs location. Orlando is VERY busy and you may want to call in advance for a table.

They opened one in Boca and it closed.

Oh, that's weird, you'd think that one would do pretty well.

Cool! And thanks for the tips!

That location was doomed before they even opened. Didnt open early enough for the early bird special crowd, no early bird specials, to outside the box for the age group and type of eaters in Boca in 2000/01. Great Chef who opened the place and he ended up in Philly IIRC and the GM relocated to either Orlando or ATL. Bad planning from the get go in my opinion.

The place was in the back of a Holiday Inn on Glades road in Boca.
Terrible location could not be seen from the main street . In order to get in you had to go thru a maze of streets or if parked in front all the way thru lobby of place.
Manager of Hotel part was a Fruitcake.
I know cause before I quit I was Exec there . I spent more time creating their banquet cost and sales manuals for the whole hotel chain then anything.

I've eaten at the Orlando one a couple times. They do a great job and the service is what it should be which makes it a cut above some others in the area who do an equivalent job with the food but lack the service finesse.

If you need reservations chefhow can hook you up!
