Dinosaur cutter

gotta admit I laughed pretty hard when I saw this

"This device allows us to give our kids what we wanted as kids without jeopardizing our role as parents. Don't ****ing lie, most of you loved happy meals as kids and wanted nothing more than to have one for dinner every night. Nevermind what it tasted like, you loved the toy.

You can't in good conscience give your kids unhealthy meals but you can give them one thing. Dinosaur sandwiches."

unfortunately I couldn't credit the original author of that as they chose to remain anonymous. Still, a humorous review of a whimsical item. 2 thumbs up!

I have to admit, I think it's sorta cute.

Speaking as the father of a not-quite-4-year-old boy, as well as the guy who has to pack that boy's lunch, you guys have no idea. This is genius!

Little kids are sort of 50/50 eyes/mouth about food. There are flavors any given kid won't like, but only the truly finicky will actually flatly refuse non-disliked foods if packaged attractively. Sam has been known to eat squid ink pasta... when I used egg whites to make a Baikinman face with it. He'll try anything if it looks yummy, and if he digs in with pleasure but then pushes it away immediately we know he actually doesn't like it, which is important information.

I have made him sandwiches that look like dinosaurs. And burgers that look like dinosaurs. And I've cut carrots and cucumbers and so on to look like dinosaurs and bugs and whatnot. That's fine, but it's a pain and requires time and some modicum of skill. If you can just punch the sandwich into dino shapes 1-2-3, that's one more thing you don't have to think about. Then you put the sandwich onto a bed of rice and put some green pea grass underneath, and a yellow egg sky in the corner....
