Greetings folks

Well after an entire life of eating other peoples cooking, I am finally attempting to learn to do it myself! I spent most my life as a long haul trucker and lived out of an endless stream of truck stops and diners, I am now somewhat settled down and frankly don't care if I ever eat in a restaurant again. I have almost no experience beyond spaghetti and sauce out of a can, I am starting with home-made soups, I like making a big pot that will last several days, so far my best luck has been clam chowder and split pea.

Welcome to Cheftalk.
As you will see from reading some of the fora on here, we have all levels of culinary skills, from those just setting out on the adventure, through those like me, who are are keen amateur cooks, all the way to masterchefs :look:

Take a tour around - there are lots of interesting articles and photographs to drool over - and then I hope you will start to join in on threads of particular interest to you, or start your own. All we ask is that you do not post in the Culinary Professional area of the forum which is reserved for those who work in the various professions - but that doesn't mean you shouldn't read them.... I've followed some fascinating topics in that section.
