My smallest dog is crazy for carrots. To the point where if he hears me peeling anything he will come bounding from where ever he was lounging, run about franticly, and generally make an *** of himself.
My wife and daughter used to take our boxer to my MIL's place in the country, lots of wild animals.
Whenever they'd come back the dog would get sick.
We'd always find a tick or two on him, remove them, and in a couple of days he would get better, so I was always thinking Lime Disease.
One time he didn't get better in the same timeframe so we took him to the vet.
After much questioning, my wife finally revealed that the dog was in the habit of eating wild turkey crap.
Salmonella was the diagnosis.
After that they kept him away from the bird droppings and he's been fine.
Along more traditional lines, we have a counter that we've (finally) learned not to store food on, even for short periods if we leave the dog in while we run out.
He's eaten pumpkin spice cookies, Death by Chocolate Roadtrip cookies, cheesecake, potato chips, etc.
As evidenced by my first paragraph, that dog will eat anything.
Discovered yesterday that my female Jack Russell terrier likes raw oatcake dough. She also loves brussel sprouts.
I remember remarking one day after giving the dogs a little bit of my leftover steak that even my dogs love my cooking. Next day Jason finds the dogs in the church garbage eating moldy tarts. Yeah...that did alot for my ego.
Mine are not so adventurous, but whenever i am chopping onion and/or garlic, the cats come a-riunning, cuz they know once the onions are on, there's gonna be some raw meat happening. And being kitchen cats...well, put it this way, I buy extra cuz its fun feeding them while I cook.
Anyone else got a begging kitchen pet - I like the leg rubs I get
My dog loves raw potatoes. All of his siblings and parents are the same way. Some of them will steal potatoes from the bag but, thankfully, mine just begs when I am peeling them. Anytime I start peeling vegetables, he's right there waiting. He'll eat the occasional romaine lettuce, cucumber, and loves fresh green beans, too.
