Repairing a Gas Grill

Thread Starter
I have an old gas grill. I've liked it over the years but it's time for some fixes or the junkyard.

I've replaced the burners before and could do so again but the cooking grate is also wearing out. And the commonly available replacement grates are pretty junky.

I could have new grates crafted out of that expanded metal lath used in lots of smokers and home-made drum grills. But I don't know of a source or what metal grade to specify. I don't know how they hold up to routine high heat grilling.

What do you all think?
