Green olive tapenade?

Just spoke with our distributor who talked me into purchasing an 11lb. pail of green olive paste that he says makes a great tapenade. Anyone ever tried making a green olive tapenade? Any tips (aka recipes) on making it?

Trader Joe's sells a product labeled exactly that.

Take a careful look at the label but, as Tom Lehrer used to say (sing, actually), "Plagerize, Plagerize, Plagerize but... be careful always to call it, please, research!

Mike--back in the good ole days (80's) TJ's made most of the things they sold in their stores and they were pretty good. We lived in Pasadena then and would shop the TJ's in S. Pasadena where TJ himself was often found behind the meat counter cutting things up.

But now only the Great Pumpkin himself knows who makes their stuff--and most of their prepared things--including the tapenade you mention--are only fit to feed to the hogs.

Lobsterpot..

Try adding olive oil, garlic, roasted red pepper and salt/pepper to the paste. You can add some anchovies or anchovy paste to flavor it further.

If it were me, that's what I'd be adding to it.. you could also add some chopped black olives as well. It'd be good on crostini or for a muffelata

Good luck!
