Hi, My name is Lance. I live in Vancouver, BC - home of the upcoming Vancouver2010 Winter Olympics. The food culture here is fantastic with many influences from different cultures, asian, south asian, european, south american. My industry experience is limited to being a cooks assistance. So i don't consider myself a professional as i cook from home a lot. (and asked to do the occasional dinner party.) I enjoy everything about food and am excited to hear different views of chefs.

One of my first internet knives. Great blade. I mean *great* but the handle was a bit weird. Right now it just sits at the bottom of my knife kit.

Hello Lance, and welcome to Chef Talk. Many of us here are home cooks, as you and I are. We have great opportunities to learn from the pros by reading the pros' forums (we must consider those "read only"), by reading the cooking articles, blogs, visiting the photo galleries and more.
I'm sure it'll be an exciting time to have the world come to Vancouver for the Olympic games.
We hope you find information here that you can use, and also that you participate in the discussions here as well. Enjoy!
Regards,
Mezzaluna
