loved to eat, now love to cook

Thread Starter
I am a partial victim of this economy, so I get to stay home a little more than before. I have recently acquired the passion of gourmet cooking. Like a grilled roast beef sandwich, coated with either coconut oil or my own Mediterranean dressing, mild cheddar, tomato, avocado and a mustard-mayo-Worcestershire spread. Grill open face, cheese on one, meat on other. Remove from griddle, place fresh organic tomato and avocado on and put it together, serve. I have 4 sons ranging in age from 20 down to 4. Each with different tastes and likes. I am always looking for new inspiration. I have never had luck following recipes, so I see something and it gives me an idea.
I am looking at getting the book " The Flavor Bible", by Karen Page, anyone know anything about it?

Welcome to Chef Talk, wannabegourmet. You'll find plenty of fodder here just by searching the discussion threads. Home cooks like you and I are welcome to read in all of the forums, but we're to consider the Professionals' forums as "read only". You're welcome to post in all of the General forums.

For instance, you can use the search tool to see if any discussions include Karen Page's book. Sorry you have more free time than you'd like, but you can put it to good use here!

Good luck!
