Cleaning oil off a stove

Thread Starter
Today I had an explosive oil mishap over my stove at home. It instantly burst into flames. The smoke alarm probably saved my life. There was oil all over the eyes and underneath one of them. I tried soaking it up with a towel and scrubbing the eyes and their housing with joy, but I'm worried I might have another volcanic explosion if I try to boil some water.

What is the proper way to clean this thing to ensure safety? It's an electric stove.

Honestly oil can't harm any electric stuff. So even if you stove soak with lots of oil, it won't burst or trigger a fire. But depend on what oil it is. If it was mixed with water then probably its a harmful stuff for any machine. You can change it if you like to avoid any incident.

I don't know what you mean by "eyes", but if you cleaned up the oil, then it's cleaned up. If there's a little left on something, it will smoke and maybe even flame a little, but it won't last long if there's nothing else there to burn. it'll just burn off. A little scary and stinky maybe, but nothing you can't control. Keep a box of salt handy if you're worried when you turn it on.

Formula 409 or white/clear vinegar.

Hot water and Comet (cuts grease), rinse and repeat, works everytime.
