Thread Starter
I thought after reading the Cioppino post I would read alittle about this area of Italy.
What I found was really interesting.
For starters, These are some famouse things that found there roots in Liguria
Ravioli
Minastrone
Focaccia
Sundried tomatoes
Genoise (from Genea)
Amaretti
and Pesto.

Alot to be thankful for ,wouldn't you say!

Thanks for your interest Cape Chef!
Actually Ligurian cooking is relatively unknown abroad, compared to other Italian regional cookings...but it's a pity!
Just something more about it:
although Liguria lies almost entirely by the sea, Ligurian cooking is not a fish-based one. We obviously have many fish recipes (as Ciuppin), but the most typical Ligurian dishes are made of vegetables, cheese and meat. We have many of the best vegetarian recipes in Italy! The main features of our cooking are the use of aromatic herbs, extravergine olive oil, vegetables (Liguria is renowned for its early vegetables) and pasta.

I'm looking for some good link focused on Ligurian cooking...in the meantime, I'll post something on the Recipe Board!
