Just found this site, can't wait to look around! I've worked up and down the east coast in large hotels (pastry) and now teach baking in a high school Culinary Arts program... I have discovered it is less stressful to work a 12 hour crazy shift in industry than it is to spend 6 hours with teenagers, but never the less, I do love it!

I bought one of these just for making osso buco. I found myself using it for a lot more than just that. I make tomato sauce in it, chili, any excuse I have to bust it out, I do. I absolutely...

One of my first internet knives. Great blade. I mean *great* but the handle was a bit weird. Right now it just sits at the bottom of my knife kit.

Welcome to Chef Talk! We're glad to add another teacher to our ranks, as we have a good number of culinary students seeking us out. We have a distinguished group of culinary instructors here, too! MBrown teaches pastry, but I think she's at the college level. Do some searching here and you'll find more. Jim and Cape Chef spring to mind as two more excellent instructors.
We hope you visit and participate often, in between grading papers. :D (I'm a retired middle school teacher myself.) Enjoy!
Regards,
Mezzaluna
