Aspiring Chef

Hello ChefTalk,

My name is Zach and I'm a Hawaiian transplant living and working in Portland, Oregon as a line/bar-food/short-order cook at a restaurant/pub in North Portland. I've been working the past year as a breakfast cook on the weekends and also working one dinner shift during the week. I also attend college, majoring in computer science, and quite skeptical about what kind of career I would like to devote all of my time to. Working as a cook for the past year has introduced me to the working lifestyle of the cook. The ups and downs, not making that much money, but having strong moral satisfaction when being complemented about my food and improvements that I've made.
I'm still very much a beginner, but often dream of what it would be like to be awarded a Michelin Star, and how great that achievement would feel. Anyhow, its nice to be a part of this website, thanks for reading my intro. Aloha.
