sick as a dog.....

I felt it coming on a couple of day's ago and thursday I had to go home early.....this is our prime time so i'm back at it today. I'll show no matter what and leave it to someone else to send me home....I just don't want to leave the club in a lurch so I'm here and am just going to make the best of it.....:(

No offense, but given the current flu scare, my opinion is that the responsible thing to do would be to call off, not come in. If you're going to stay, exercise the utmost caution and wash your hands like a maniac.

I still remember watching a film offered by the health dept., and when we came to the part where the voice on the film said "if you are sick you should stay home so as not to contaminate anyone else, I'm sure your employer would understand" the room broke out in laughter, including the guy from the health dept.
It's a great thought, and the right thing to do, but I have a hard time believing it's the norm, especially in the smaller joints.
Knowledge is knowing a tomato is a fruit. Wisdom is not putting it in a fruit salad.

I left it up to the GM, He could see I was sick but still wanted me to come in......There's the right thing to do and there's the things you have to do.... I will do what ever it takes to get the job done and not leave my crew high and dry......of course I'm taking as many precousions as possible, washing hand, finding a dark corner to seclude myself...ect..

I'm with you Fryguy.
I expect I will cover my next 3 shifts after I die.
I know I've posted this before, but it always pops in my head....
...I'm reminded of the Farside comic, where there's a picture of a sinking ship, next to it is a liferaft with a couple of sailors and the captain, and on the bow of the ship is a cook, and the caption reads "I wonder if that's really true, the cook always goes down with the ship?".

In my experience, it's really true.

I had a bug last weekend and toughed out and did what i had to do. I did wash my hands like a maniac and I wore gloves when i was handling ready to eat food. It wasn't anyting raging. I just felt like abag of poop was all.

Is the lake going to freeze this year or has global warming brought a warm winter?:thumb:

OMG I feel so much better !!!!! I don't think I've been that sick in the last 10 years. Still trying to get it over with, but really alot better.....

No global warming here Pem. We've had a real cold snap, record low temps for almost 2 weeks.... the lake did freeze over and at East Moreland park they have been playing ice hockey in the duck pond !!!!! how's that for cold !!!! BURRRRRRRRRRRRR

Hi, fryguy

no worry. I have a get well recipe for you, and eat well and get better...

Ingredients

* 2 lbs chicken wings
* water to cover by a few inches
* handful of shiitake mushrooms
* 4 green onions
* red bell pepper
* 6 cloves garlic
* 1/2 cups thin sliced ginger
* soy sauce to taste
* fresh chopped cilantro
* hot pepper - optional

Instructions

Step 1
Brown chicken wind for a few minutes, then covered with water.

Step 2
Then bring to a simmer, skim foam from top.

Step 3
Then cool till meat falls off.

Step 4
Brown shiitake mushrooms on a pan for a few minutes.

Step 5
Slice garlic, red bell pepper, ginger, green onions.

Step 6
Discard bones and meat.

Step 7
Add veggies, simmer veggies for 10 minutes, then add soy sauce to taste.

Step 8
Add fresh cilantro to a serving bowl, stir and breath vapors

As I watch the video I am having this sick feeling. Feel like I want to get sick and eat that get well chicken soup. :D Anyway great advice and I want to try that soup soon. Have a nice day.

don't have to be sick and eat that get well chicken soup. A healthy person can eat it and get better and stronger. This chicken soup is great for women after labor.

Well I would have loved this recipe 16 and 14 years ago after my two goes at labour!:lol:

Seriously it sounds good and I am going to have to make it!
