Hi people,

I am from Turkey and Turkish cuisine is really great! It is full of very delicious tastes. Not for chauvinistic reasons, but to touch to each other and learn how people cooks out there, I would like to share our knowledges about our cuisines.

Welcome to Chef Talk, Bidiboom. I've had one brief chance to taste Turkish food, and I enjoyed it very much. I tasted other Mediterranean flavors in the dishes (apricots, almonds, lamb, etc.). I hope you will share some home style recipes from your region of Turkey.

Hi ChefAmber, nice to hear you :)

I am a newbie and I dont remember any rule about giving links here.. is it unethical here to give a link? I have some recipes in a site in Turkey.. it was all Turkish, but now I translate some of the stuff in English as well and wrote my recipes mostly in English.

The link is cooking-recipes.ascilik.net/bidiboom_QmZ14WoZ3WiZ6071 .. my nick is bidiboom there as well.. I want to pass some of my recipes here too, but right now I dont have time it deserves... In time :)

I hope you dont feel confused.. because the Turkish and English stuff are all in the same page :P .. it will get better.. that in time as well :)

Yes, our guidelines state that it's not proper here to simply post links- especially of others' recipes without their permission. We're careful here about such things. :) That's one thing that makes Chef Talk different. We discuss our experiences with food and learn from others'. I'm sure you'll have stories to share about how you gained your love of Turkish food and ingredients, how dishes are part of your family, etc. You'll find other such discussions in the Recipes forum or in the Food and Cooking General Forum.

I'll look forward to learning more, and I"m sure others do, too. :lips:

I dont believe you :)) woww! among the sub-cuisines of Turkey you pick the most healthy one.. Med.cuisine is both healthy and easy to digest.. but ooo!.. there such others that, let alone eating them, you hug and sleep together :)) hahaha.. THAT delicious..

Mezzaluna I saw your comment just now.. actually in my link mostly my recipes take place and I translate others' not for myself, but for others.. but ok, you are well right and thank you for warning.. ok then, lets start with a recipe of countryside, Buhara Rice...

By the way, 10 years ago I was terrible in kitchen :) .. I simply lovve to see the people feel good with my foods .. especially when they need..

Mezzaluna, I post my recipe, but I couldnt upload its image since it exceeds a little amount of memory :(
May I place the link of just this recipe? I already placed the recipe here, and I want to place its image as well. If I can upload, sure I prefer this.

Bidiboom, you can upload images to the photo gallery. I believe that's the preferred method. I don't know a lot of the technical details, but you can ask Nicko or Jim for more information.

Hi chefs4arab,

Are you really an Arab? In any case we share a lot of tastes actually.. I suggest you to get the recipe Yaglama (in Recipes Forum) .. it is a minced meat suace between dough layers.. I believe Arab people love this :)

And you know what : Just because I lovvve your Mamoul (a cookie with date inside), I tried again and again and I could do this : Cookie With Date Filling (its in Recipe Forum as well) .. but you dont need it of course :) you know better than that.. but this is another taste..
