I had Hoshigaki today!

Wow, this is really good! Bought those at the farmer's market. They're dried persimmons, but the guy selling them explained they massage them while they're drying, apparently a Japanese method (hence the Japanese name).

It's kinda like... think of the texture of a date, but not as sweet, flavor of persimmon, concentrated, with a light crusty icing, not unlike the icing on marrons glacés.

I love discovering new foodstuff - it's fun!
