Setting preferences

I've been looking and looking, but can't find anyplace to set how many threads you see when you first go into a forum.  I ask in the context of moderating the Welcome Forum. Right now I'm seeing way, way too many threads when I go into the forum; I want to see only the ones that are new or have new activity.

I looked too during the demo phase and couldn't find such things in this software.

Your Home  tab does some of this. This is the first page see when you log in to the site or if you keep your login persistent, then the default view at www.cheftalk.com.

Then below that are for ovals for Profile, Forum, Reviews and Wiki though I don't  think that's the order. Clicking those filters the new posts view. When they have the green 'light" they show in the home view. When they don't, those posts are invisible. Lighting only the forum view shows you only the most recent  forum posts.
