We used an orange-based degreaser.  It was a bit harsh but worked amazingly well; just sprayed it on and shortly the grease would start to ooze off without help.  We had to lay down a mat of paper towles to catch the drips.  It was not the most environmentally, nor lung, friendly product so we called it Agent Orange.  That being said, I can't quite remember the real name.

If it's something you are interested in I will endevour to find out the name.  We don't actually use it anymore because of it's harshness but it you have an infrequent but big job it might do for you.
