in the old format, you could check a persons profile and see when they last logged in. I used this for a lot of the single posters on the forums. if I saw they had not bothered to log in and check for responses, I didn't bother to answer the post. If I saw that someone was at least logging in to check on things I would post a reply as I felt it wasn't a waste of time. Now you can't tell when they have last logged in. I will be ignoring a lot of single posters from here on out.
