how do i find a job thats not fast food?

Don't apply at "fast food places" ?

 

Seriously, make a list of all the independents, cafes, fine dining, bistros, etc., within a comfortable distance, plan on starting as a dishwasher, maybe a prep cook, report "on-time", smile, keep your head down, say "Yes Chef", do what you're told (if you don't know ASK!)
