I'm not much of a bread maker, this was the first loaf I have done in a while.

It seems overall pretty good, the bottom was a bit hard though, and the inside dough seemed a little dense.

4.5C flour 2C Water, 1 packet quick rise yeast, 2t salt, 1t sugar, kneeded for 5 min in the mixer on 6, then a little by hand, let rest 1.5 hrs, then formed, let rest 30 min, brushed with egg wash, baked at 400 for 30 min.

looks pretty good to me, seems a little pale but that could just be the lighting.

No it was pale, is that due to not enough egg wash?

usually, or just not cooked for that extra minute or two. When I make egg wash I just use like 2 tblspn of water to one egg. Basically just enough water to get the egg to spread evenly with my brush. What kind of bread were you going for? That looks like a nice french or sourdough. middle should be a little chewy.
