How to get a job at a restaurant.

O.K. I'm not personally looking for a job. But I read on these boards about potential foodservice workers who dream of the kitchen, the glamour of long sweaty hours and whatnot. Well, I'll give you a pointer.
Look for Beer Trucks making deliveries when you are dropping off your application or resume. Provided you are just dropping off either to reply to a classified or the like. If a beer truck is there, then someone is there in the office who you can at least talk to and your resume isn't left with the daytime maintenance man. Most places alcohol is COD, so at least someone in a supervisory position will be there to pay for it. Seriously, it works. Anybody else?

Or, "may I speak with the sous chef please" provided it's before 10am or after 3 30 pm
