Hi All, I am trying to find a commercial kitchen in south Florida for rent.  I am looking into starting a catering business and would prefer to rent a kitchen for the time being... Also, does anyone have any ideas or any other options that could help me to get started...

Try local churches. Moose lodges and vertran groups all have commercial kitchens. See if you can work a deal giving consideration for in house events for the use of the kitchen. Might not hurt to offer 5 percent of the sale as rent money.

I'm looking, too. Would you happen to know of anything in Broward or North Dade? Thanks

What  4 months is that? I know some companies that will say they have been slow for 3 years and counting.  And some that say if they didn't have their cooperate accounts and other regulars they would have to close up. "Anybody want to buy $1/2 MIL worth of equipment?"

On an overall past many  years average, here in South Florida(Palm Beaches) 4 maybe 5 good party months after that forget it. The PB people  are not affected by the economy like the average,. They still want to give the outward illusion of keeping up and passing the Joneses. Maddoff did not get all their $., and they still have their balls and other functions seasonally when all the snow birds are here. Then its off to the Hamptons.

Can you let me know where your current space is located?  I'm actually looking to launch a small bakery and the Davie area is centrally located.

I have a fully licensed/certified and inspected kitchen coming up for rent in April 2012. 960 sq ft, located less than a mile south of Fort Lauderdale Airport. This location is deemed by the city of Dania to be TAKE OUT ONLY. Can be used for catering. Opened with all permits Feb 11. NO GAS EQUIPTMENT (gas service is not available). 5.5 ft fire suppression system. BIG CLEAN. Tenant must bring their own stove (this 40" electric professional series remains with partner...he paid for it). $1500.00 security/cleaning deposit, $1600.00 per month (includes water/sewage/garbage, licensure, basic insurance on unit, use of 2 fridges, one cooler, one upright freezer, all racks). Average electric bill $150 per month.
