My friend's blog

My friend Paul Goldfield's blog.  He generally writes about life in Italy but sometimes he writes about food.  This one is particularly funny, as is the previous one about the butcher.  :)

Omigod! Too early for that kind of story.

Thanks for posting. I'll probably be chuckling on and off all day.

Welcome to my world!

Well, sort of.

Main differences:  I don't know any of those super rich people with that kind of terrace, pretty much nobody i know drinks whiskey, and everyone brings their kids to dinner.

Wish he'd invited me though.

Marvelous... he's now on my Favorites list, and I wish him well, especially after the stroke.

Thank you Kuan,

Great Blog

I enjoyed his BBQ story very much.  Reminded me about eating BBQ in Japan for the first time.  The Japanese love eating BBQ, but they only eat small pieces of meat which they can stuff in their mouth after grilling. I prepared greek style marinated chicken and my mother-in-law was simply amazed since marinating is something rarely done in Japan.

Now, I really want to eat BBQ!

Talking about BBQ in Italy, has anybody seen No Reservations episode in Rome?

It is long, but worth while.  I just get that picture of mixing speghetti and bbq sauce (even though they adapted it), yuk!  lol

This one is pretty good.  :)  Paul is pretty much blind so keep that in context when you read this:  http://paulgoldfield.wordpress.com/2012/12/11/cafe-propaganda/

I like the way he quotes in Italian and provides the translation.

That was awesome ... I loved the line ( Scots shouldn't own barbeques and he won't let me help )
