i just got my first job in a restaurant as a cook and almost the entire kitchen staff speaks mostly spanish.  Most of the people speak english but there are a few people who don't speak a word of english.  Is this common in a lot of restaurants or just this one?  I want to be a chef and although I think can perform my job well without knowing spanish im wondering if it will benefit me if a lot of future kitchens im gonna be in have a lot of spanish speakers

I suppose if you don't already know Spanish you will pretty soon. :)

Never hurts to learn another language, it's good for the brain.  It'll be a great career skill anyways.

Yup.  Only a zillion people speak the language, ranking up there with Mandarin and Englisch as the most popular languages.

If you work in the States or abroad, you'll definatley need it in the kitchen.
