More on our FDA-USDA and eggs Lord help us

Thought it interesting that neither have found a solution to where the Salmonella outbreak started in the eggs that were sent to market and made a lot of folks sick a month or so ago. The farms were both filthy as reported by the inspections prior and after but source could not be found..And they are still selling eggs. Our government in action again. I say abolish the both of them and all the other supposed inspection agencies and form 1 super food and drug inspection agency that is operated by Food and drug people not by politician appointed idiots. And give them the power to both close down and bring up on harsh criminal charges any offenders to the pure food and drug acts.

I couldn't agree more. It also amazes me that in this advanced civilization that is the United States of America, we have to keep our eggs in the refrigerator because of the way we raise our chickens. Yet in the so called 3rd world countries that I have visited and lived, the eggs don't need to be refrigerated because of the way they raise their chickens.

Ah, but who decides what "pure food and drug acts" will be enforced, let alone created/established?

I have a "degree of faith" for most scientific research and results, however, some "scientific research" has little of either: science OR research!

IF you can convince me that ALL "pure food and drug acts" are based on solid "science" AND you can convince me that ANYONE from the "government" is "here to help me", you may have a foundation for a workable system.

The FDA is nothing but a fascist agency that is bought and paid for by big business. Most of the execs that leave the FDA get cushy jobs with the big business that they have assisted getting around regulation that the small guy must follow to the T. Read the story of Aspertaim how the board of the FDA denied its use. Then comes along Remfeild who gets Regan to replace board members who voted against the sweetener with ones who worked for the company that made the sweetener and Vola  Aspertaim was in every supermarket in the country. A drug company can make a drug that kills thousands and the FDA will fine them a few dollars but god let a health food product make any medical claim and the FDA will take them out faster then a Soprano's hit man on steriod. God forbid an Amish farmer sell raw milk to a willing customer and the FDA is there to slap a cease and decist on the cows ass.  The FDA and all the other alphabet agency of the U.S Gov are nothing more than a system to keep the rich getting richer and the poor getting poorer.(see Church Com Report)

I agree with you 110%. It should be abolished. In most cases by the time the public is notified, either 1000s are sick or were sick and some die.
