I just got back from a 6 day trip to Rome, Italy. I had a blast touring the city and thoroughly enjoyed all the foods I ate. Some of the meals I had included: Porcini mushroom pasta, pesto gnocchi, cheese and pepper paste served in a bowl made of cheese, brick oven pizza, and of course, tons of gelato and espresso!
I was really excited at how good their espresso is. Now, if only Starbucks could get it right...
This trip has inspired me to make several new things...Homemade pasta and gelato are first on my list! I've never been a huge pasta fan, but if I could make sauces like they do....Mmmm mmm. The porcini mushroom dish was simply mushrooms, olive oil, parmesan, and red pepper flakes. So simple, yet SO good.
I'm curious if anyone else has been to other countries, enjoyed the food, and came home inspired. Share your stories!
